Throughout this course, I got to learn about various projects and topics that I had no idea about..
For example, I had no clue that London suffered from issues of flooding so learning about the river barrier and how the environmental protection agency plays a big role was really interesting to see how much work it behind flood prevention. Also, visiting the OXFAM warehouse was eye opening because natural disasters are such a big part of our world, therefore some of us never really understand or experience the hardships that others endure. Seeing all the equipment was kind of relieving in a sense that knowing that OXFAM knows what kind of material is needed when helping out in a major situation. I guess the main point of applying my learning experiences is to go beyond my knowledge and learn about other stuff that I may not be familiar with. Constant growing and challenging yourself always results in positive outcomes.

I feel that this entire journey was influential. I can't define a moment, but I do remember stopping throughout the trip to sit back and take everything in. I definitely loved the city life and how everything was so accessible and easy going. Everyone is always on the move and that's how I feel majority of the time.
What surprised me the most about myself was how easily I adapted to the foreign environment. Getting around, finding places to eat, and going on adventures became my new normal routine and I couldn't have been happier. I love the pace of the city and how everything is designed, it kind of reminded me of Boston, MA at a certain point. Something that I didn't expect was the issue with safety. Yeah, it was rather safe in our location but the amount of thefts that I witnessed put me on edge, but that's regardless of wherever I'm traveling to because things are bound to happen. I guess it just made me a bit more cautious than I usually am. |
