Here is a list of places I've traveled to. Domestic
International
Some of my travel experiences involve visiting family and friends who live and who have moved throughout the country. Other destinations have been family vacations as well. Most of my traveling experiences have been very diverse for the most part. Since I have a lot of family throughout the country, I always try to visit them at least once a year. Also, my parents used to live in Colorado before I came into their lives, so now that I'm older we sometimes revisit. I like traveling throughout the United States because there is so much to see and the way of life always varies in different places. Also, there is a huge misconception of some places, therefore you have to experience for yourself it to be able to understand better. For example, I always thought Florida was a sunny and bright place 24/7, but it's obviously not - and it's crazy humid. So far, my favorite places in the U.S. are Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, and Boston! Even though they are all heavy populated cities, I love the people and the large variety of things to do there. I visit Mexico frequently because I have a lot of family out there so it's always nice to vacation and get to catch up with all of my cousins, aunts, and uncles who I don't get to see regularly. I have family mainly in Cancun and Guadalajara. Last June, I went to Puerto Vallarta with my best friend because she wanted to visit her family, so we got to run around Mexico for a week which was so much fun, but I always have a habit of getting sick whenever I travel so I had to end my trip early and head home. My father is from Cairo, Egypt so I've been there several times to visit my dad's side as well. Going there at a young age was a little hard for me because as a kid, I just wanted to stay home and play like I was used to, so traveling was a little hard for me. It took me awhile to get adjusted to the country because everything was so different there, but I learned to adjust and I started to love it. I got to hang out and play with my cousins who taught me Arabic and it was fun to see where and how my father grew up. Learning about my roots definitely taught me a lot and I guess I didn't really appreciate it until I was older and was able to look back on my experiences, which I am grateful for. I cannot wait to keep traveling :) P.S. Here's a picture of my family in Egypt - I'm the one on my dad's shoulders with a view of the pyramids and the Sphinx

A brief history and background about where I grew up, my education, and hobbies.
My parents raised me and my siblings in the city of Los Angeles. I attended both public and private school growing up. Even though I have been living in Florida going on 4 years now, it has taken me some time and effort to adjust to the lifestyle here. I'm from a very large and fast-paced city, therefore moving here was hard for me. Some may say its a form of "culture shock", and I completely agree. I found issues adjusting to the weather, traffic, lifestyle, and food because I was so accustomed to Western U.S. culture. Contrary to popular belief, I do not surf, live next door to a celebrity, nor aspire to be an actress in Hollywood. Since soccer is a big sport in my family, I grew up playing for several different teams for 12 years and it wasn't until high school where I decided to change things up and play volleyball and run track. I was even placed in ballet and gymnastics for a short amount of time when I was younger, but kept gravitating back towards soccer. I definitely like to try new things and experience change so I am very open minded to trying everything out. I am currently going into my senior year at USF and I'm studying Health Sciences with concentrations in Biological Health Sciences and Health Management with a minor in Public Administration. I transferred to USF during my junior year (Fall 2016) from another Florida university where I was studying Logistics and Supply Chain Management, but not I was not interested in the subject matter. After graduating from USF, I hope to go to graduate school and get my MBA so I can work in healthcare administration for non-profit hospitals and clinics. Ideally, I would like to manage different research institutes and work with other biomedical pharmaceutical companies. As far as involvement at school goes, I am a member of Gamma Phi Beta International Sorority and I as I had previous mentioned in the "About Me" section, I am a photography intern for the Dean's office for the College of Arts and Sciences. Photography is one of my favorite hobbies that I am really passionate about and I hope to dedicate more of my time to it because I know I can constantly learn. Aside from photography, I enjoy exploring art museums and music. Another passion of mine is traveling, but I do not want to get into that right now, so I'll save it for my next blog entry :-) P.S. Here is some of my work! **All images and content is my original work. |
